VAT Consultancy: Independent Review [rev_slider alias="vatconsultancy"]

Requesting an independent review is usually the next stage when appealing a decision by HMRC. It involves a review officer from the Solicitors Office who will go through all the facts of the case and decide whether HMRC’s decision is sound.

An independent review is very fact specific. Often reviews uphold HMRC’s decision as the client tends to use it as a means to express their frustration with the officer, rather than produce further evidence. An independent review is your opportunity to submit further facts and it should be used to its full advantage.

We have submitted many independent reviews and can help you by either writing the review ourselves, or supporting you by advising on any weaknesses your arguments may have and the areas the officer may be more or less concerned about during the review.
